Amazon URL Shortener – Clean Links, QR Codes & History

Tired of messy Amazon URLs?

This extension automatically shortens long Amazon product links into the clean, shareable /dp/ASIN format. No more tracking parameters, referral tags, or cluttered addresses — just a short link that points to exactly the same product.

Open a product page, and the URL is already clean. There’s nothing to press.

How It Works

Open the popup to copy the link, generate a QR code, or view your history.

Your link history is stored locally on your device. No data is sent to external servers.

Why Amazon URLs Are So Long — and What /dp/ASIN Actually Is

A full Amazon product URL can run past 200 characters: the product title spelled out in full, then ref= codes, session identifiers, keyword strings, and tracking parameters describing how you got there.

None of it is the product. Every Amazon item has an ASIN — a ten-character identifier — and amazon.com/dp/ASIN is the canonical short form Amazon itself recognizes. Everything else is context about your visit, not the item.

The length has real costs. Long URLs get truncated in messages, wrap badly in emails, look like spam in forums and reviews, break spreadsheet columns, and carry your browsing path along to anyone who clicks. If you share products regularly — comparison lists, wishlists, group chats, price threads — you’re paying that cost every time. A /dp/ link is short enough to read at a glance and opens the identical page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this extension do? It automatically shortens Amazon product URLs to the clean /dp/ASIN format, stripping tracking parameters and referral tags as you browse.

What is an ASIN? It’s Amazon’s ten-character product identifier. Since amazon.com/dp/ASIN is all that’s needed to reach a product, everything else in a long URL can be dropped.

Do I have to click anything? No. URLs are cleaned automatically as soon as you open a product page. The popup is only for copying, QR codes, and history.

Do the shortened links still work? Yes. The /dp/ASIN format is Amazon’s own canonical short form, so a cleaned link opens exactly the same product page.

Does it work on Amazon UK, Germany, India, and other stores? Yes. It supports 20+ marketplaces including Amazon.com, .co.uk, .de, .co.jp, .ca, .in, .ae, .sa, and many more, plus Smile Amazon variants.

What is the QR code for? It turns any product link into a scannable code — useful for jumping from desktop to phone, or sharing a product in person or in print.

Does it save my links? Yes. Your last 50 shortened links are kept locally for quick access.

Does it remove affiliate tags? It strips tracking and referral parameters to produce a clean link. If you’re an affiliate and need your tag preserved, this isn’t the right tool for sharing your own affiliate links.

Is my history private? Yes. Everything is stored locally on your device and nothing is sent to external servers.
